As an office administrator, managing staff workflow and accountability are vital in turning a profit.
When tracking something on paper it can easily get lost, which hinders workflow. Many companies are moving to software programs to manage workflow, but sometimes they move to too many applications or the software they get is too complicated to use effectively. Find a consolidated program that keeps everything in one place, thus streamlining the process.
Micromanagement is not the same as
workflow management. Workflow management is getting the most out of a process and the people. If a workflow process is well designed, then less will “slip through the cracks,” and work will get done quicker and more accurately.
Accountability isn’t about maintaining trust; it’s about responsibility and accuracy. A good system has to encourage a system of delegation, accountability and needs to be visible to both management and staff to evaluate and measure performance. It will give everyone a clear understanding of what is being done, what has been done, and what still needs to be finished.
All of these things bring value to the big picture reports. It makes all the information being tracked more profitable to the
company.
